BORA Horizon and BORA Stars are designed for lighting above the cooktop, countertop, or dining table and keep the view through the kitchen as unobstructed as possible.
From cooking to a cozy dinner
Above a kitchen island, you want to be able to see clearly what you’re doing while cooking. But once the food is on the table, the light can be a bit softer. A cooktop with an integrated vent creates space above the cooking zone. There’s no traditional range hood in the way, so you can incorporate lighting more freely into your kitchen design. BORA offers two different systems for this: the linear BORA Horizon and the vertical BORA Stars.
BORA Horizon: a single light strip above your kitchen
The BORA Horizon is a linear pendant light designed for above the cooktop, countertop, or dining table. The light can provide both direct downward illumination and indirect upward lighting. This allows you to use the same light as functional lighting while cooking and as mood lighting while dining. The light temperature is adjustable in five levels, and the lighting is continuously dimmable. This allows you to adjust the light throughout the day to suit whatever you’re doing in the kitchen.
Control with a hand gesture
Need to adjust the light while cooking? The BORA Horizon can be controlled with gestures. This lets you adjust the lighting right at the light fixture without having to walk over to a switch.
BORA Stars: playing with individual light points
While Horizon forms a single horizontal line, BORA Stars uses slim vertical light tubes. This allows you to create a completely different look by adjusting the placement of the lights. Stars is available as a single light tube in a surface-mounted or recessed version. You can also choose a version with three lights arranged in a straight line or in a circle. This allows you to tailor the lighting to, for example, the shape and position of your kitchen island, countertop, or dining table.

Horizon or Stars: Which one suits your kitchen?
Which BORA lighting is the best fit depends on more than just which lamp you prefer. With BORA Horizon, you choose a single elongated light strip that provides both direct and indirect light. The adjustable color temperature and stepless dimming function make it easy to switch between task lighting and ambient lighting. With BORA Stars, you can create individual vertical light points. You can choose a single light tube or three lights arranged in a line or circle. The Stars version with three light tubes is continuously dimmable via a rotary or light switch.
Three colors for different kitchen designs
Both the shape and color of the lighting influence the overall look of your kitchen. BORA Horizon and BORA Stars are available in black, moss green, and rose gold. This allows you to coordinate the lighting with, for example, the faucet, sink, appliances, or other accents in your kitchen.
Cleaning BORA lighting
You’ll also want to be able to easily keep the lighting above a cooktop clean. According to BORA, the surfaces can be cleaned with glass cleaner and a soft cloth.
