BORA Basic cooktop with range hood
The BORA Basic combines a glass-ceramic cooktop with radiant heating elements and an integrated cooktop extractor into a single system. The extractor is located in the center of the cooktop and removes cooking vapors and odors directly from the pan. This eliminates the need for a separate range hood above the cooktop and allows for greater freedom in kitchen design. The cooktop accommodates four pans and is designed as a compact cooktop ventilation system for everyday use.
Compact design and dimensions
The BORA Basic is 760 mm wide, 515 mm deep, and 196 mm high. When designing the kitchen, you must also account for the space required for the technical components beneath the countertop. Depending on the chosen countertop, the cooktop can be flush-mounted into the countertop or installed as a surface-mounted unit. The underside of the cooktop must remain adequately ventilated.
Cooking zones and practical features
The BORA Basic has four cooking zones. The front cooking zones have a diameter of 210 mm, and the rear cooking zones have a diameter of 140 mm. For everyday cooking, the Basic features, among other things, a power setting, an automatic preheating function, a keep-warm function, and a cooking zone timer. With the automatic preheating function, a cooking zone is temporarily heated at a higher power level and then switches back to the set cooking setting.
Integrated cooktop ventilation
The extractor is located in the center of the cooktop and draws cooking vapors downward. BORA utilizes the principle that the extraction speed is higher than the speed at which cooking vapors rise. The BORA Basic also features an automatic after-run function, which allows the extractor to continue operating for a short time after cooking before the system shuts off.
BORA Basic with recirculation or vented exhaust
The BORA Basic is available in both exhaust and recirculation versions. In the BHA exhaust version, cooking vapors are vented to the outside via a duct system. This requires a suitable route for the exhaust duct and an opening to the outside. If venting to the outside is not possible or desirable, you can opt for the BHU recirculation model. In this case, the air is filtered and then recirculated back into the kitchen. The design must allow for sufficient space for the technical components, and the filter must remain accessible for replacement.
Cleaning and maintaining the BORA Basic
The BORA Basic is designed with easy maintenance in mind. The stainless-steel grease filter is removable and can be cleaned along with other removable parts of the range hood. BORA explicitly lists easy cleaning and the stainless-steel grease filter as product features of the Basic. The glass-ceramic cooktop is easy to clean after use. For stubborn residue, you can use a scraper designed for glass-ceramic surfaces.
